Caring for your gemstones

You need to care for gemstones properly if you want to preserve their energy and maintain their appearance. To prevent conflicting energies from building up, you need to cleanse them regularly. This will ensure their therapeutic qualities don’t deteriorate.

Before you think about cleansing, it’s important that you are aware of the things that can disrupt the energy of your gemstones. These include electromagnetic fields generated by electrical equipment, X-Rays, chlorinated water, cigarette smoke and synthetic perfume. As such, your gems should be kept away from these things.

There are a few different methods for cleansing your gemstones. The best method will generally depend on the type of gemstone you are dealing with.

Water rinsing is the most simple process. You should rinse your gems for around a minute, 2-3 times a week, alternating between hot and cold water as you go. Once or twice a month, you can also use a small amount of mild, natural soap to remove oils from the surface of your gems. Some gems may be dulled by rinsing - so always do some more research first.

One option for gems that aren’t suited to rinsing is a salt-bed. To do this, fill a bowl with around half an inch of salt, and sit your gems in the bowl overnight. Repeat 2-3 times a week, and replenish the salt once a fortnight. Always use sea salt rather than table salt when cleansing ocean stones such as coral.

Plants are another excellent way of rejuvenating your gemstones. If they are strung on a necklace, you can wrap this around the base of a houseplant or drape it over the branches. This should also be done 2-3 times a week.

Another great option for cleansing your gemstones is a ’sun bath’, where you rinse them in water and then lay them outside, ideally on earth, grass or plant branches, in direct sunlight for 10-20 minutes. This should be done once or twice a fortnight.

Detoxing and Energy Healing with Reiki

Your body and all its organs run on a frequency. Because everything in the universe is made up of its own energy. Sickness and illness is a result of the energy channels becoming blocked in its own system of energy. However, if our energy is free from any obstructions, we can maintain great health and wellness.

Reiki is a system that helps to balance the auric field of the human body. It also helps to balance the chakra centers or the primary energy channels. Once these areas are clear, the bodies healing system can work properly.

People who practice Reiki are able to either hover their hands over the client’s body or lay hands on the body to initiate the session. Reiki helps to balance the body, mind and spirit. There are also practitioners that are able to perform this session remotely.

Reiki Advantages

Clients have experienced the following: Peace of mind, calmness, balance, tingling sensations, hot and cold areas, out of body experiences, communications with the Divine, and an alleviation of chronic symptoms or pain.

Detox side effects can include nausea as the body is trying to flush out toxins. Try to drink plenty of water after the session.

It must be stated by law, that a Reiki specialist should never state for a client to discontinue seeing their normal physician while seeking alternative methods of treatment. That should be left up to the individual.

Aside from many of the physical benefits, many people are able to clear out emotional baggage and really start to understand their cycles or patterns in life. Most physical ailments stem from stress, fear or some type of anxiety that we hold in the body. You can ask about this with any massage therapist. These blockages tends to manifest into physical issues along with tension in the body.

If you would like to try a complimentary 10 minute session of Reiki for only $5, then see Kenya, the creator of Psychicjazz.com. Many people hesitate to get this treatment done because they are not familiar with it before paying for a full session. Kenya has also developed the online course Chakra & Aura 101 and the free guide Psychic Awareness 101.

Keeping The Aura Clean With Salt And Water

Do you find yourself attracting negative situations and energy? If so, it may be time for an aura cleansing.

Just imagine a protective force field surrounding your body that shines your light. This field of energy can be felt by many people even before they notice you entering a room.

The aura also acts like a magnet. As it gets dirty, it can collect residue and get weakened over time. If this happens, you could be susceptible to illness.

Why Do We Attract Unwanted Energy?

If you are around smoke-filled environments or pollution over an extended time, you run the risk of breaking down your auric field. Some other factors that can weaken the energy field is negative thought patterns, partaking in negative conversations, the Internet, computers, as well as cell phones.

Besides all the environmental aspects of collecting debris, our negative thought patterns are patterns that can be broken. One way of doing this is to ask for Divine assistance. The universe will guide and direct you on learning and letting go of the pattern.

Saltwater Relief

Salt and water cleanse and purify energetic debris naturally.

Fill a bathtub up with warm water and place two scoops of bath salt into the water and wait for it to dissolve.

Make sure to lay in the bathtub with the intention of clearing and strengthening your auric field.

As this is a meditative process, many people prefer to play soft music and light candles to set the mood.

A Cold Water Cleanse

Another natural way to cleanse the auric field is to shower or purify yourself in cold water. This not only cleanses the energetic body but it also does some of the following:

It helps to detoxify the body. Improves the circulation. Speeds of the bodies recovery process. Boosts up energy levels in the body. Clears up patterns of negative thinking. Uplifts the mood.

If you have not built a tolerance for cold water, it may feel sort of uncomfortable at first until you have allowed your body to get used to the feeling. Next time you take a shower, try it cold and enjoy all the health benefits it creates!

A Two-Step System for Optimal Crystal Cleansing

Decades ago, people once again became aware that crystals and crystal clusters are effective healing tools. Their capabilities are extensive, especially when they receive proper care. In therapeutic situations, crystals eliminate unwanted energies from the patient’s body and aura. As time passes, unwanted energies pervade both the surface of crystals and their energy field. If not cleansed properly, unwanted energies can impair the crystal’s healing abilities. It’s much like needing to rid your desk of clutter before you can get back to work.

If you use crystal clusters in your home or office to help keep the room’s atmosphere clear and uplifted, cleanse the crystals every time you dust, or about once every week or two. This will allow them to work at their best. Healing crystals should be cleansed after every treatment session in which you use them. If you do not cleanse your crystals as suggested, three consequences may occur. First, negative energies that the healing crystals pick up could be transmitted to the next person who receives the treatment. Second, you as the practitioner may unconsciously pick up these energies. Finally, the crystal may continue to absorb the unwanted energies, which will further cloud the crystal, making it less effective as a healing tool.

Since crystals respond well to cleansing, you can prevent these possible consequences. First give the crystals a water-cleanse to remove any dust or dirt that has accumulated on their surfaces. Provided the water to your sink is untreated and non-chlorinated, use your faucet for crystal cleansing. In addition, use a worn-out toothbrush and some mild detergent. Put some detergent on the toothbrush. Then, brush the surface of the crystals after holding them under the running water.

Periodically, switch the water between hot and cold. While the soap removes the physical dirt and dust from the crystals, the motion of the running water helps to remove unwanted energies your healing crystals may have picked up during therapeutic use, or while helping to keep the energy in a room uplifted and clear. If your tap water is treated, pour some purified water into a large measuring cup or pitcher. Cleanse the crystals with the soapy toothbrush as before, but rather than using your faucet, rinse them by pouring the purified water over them.

During a therapy session, or during time spent in a room that needed uplifting, your crystals and crystal clusters may have gathered unwanted energies. The GEMFormulas Energy Clearing Cleansing Spray will eliminate these energies, and spraying your crystals with this spray is recommended over other methods.

While using soap and running water over your crystals is effective for removing unwanted energies, this method is not effective in clearing electromagnetic radiation (EMR) that the crystals may have picked up from a patient’s body and aura during a therapy session. Crystals can also absorb EMR in environments with high electromagnetic fields. GEMFormulas EMR Protection Clearing Spray was designed to handle this situation. Spray your crystals with this formula to rid them of electromagnetic radiation.

Next, spray your crystals with the Diamond Healing Rejuvenating Spray. This will clear accumulated energy from the crystals’ blueprints to bring forward information about their true purpose. You as the practitioner can intuitively decide the distance from the crystals to hold the spray, and also at what angle. The spray will become increasingly effective as your customization becomes more creative.

By using both soap and water to physically clean your crystals, and GEMFormulas sprays to energetically clear them, your crystals will be able to express their maximum healing potential.

The Right Yoga Mat Makes Practicing A Pleasure

Whether you are a beginning yoga pupil, a curious investigator or an advanced student having the proper yoga mat makes a difference. Just what constitutes the right mat can be fairly complicated depending on what you want to accomplish and what aspects of the mat you find important. Here are just a few things you might want to consider.

How you plan on using your mat is an important consideration. A very heavy or thick mat will be difficult to transport to a group class or lesson. But, if you have it in one location then the ease of rolling it up and putting it away may count more than weight.

Traveling to class might also require that you haul accessories or props along with your mat. Now weight is becoming even more important. Perhaps a mat bag will help if this is the case. But the weight of your mat will be the biggest consideration. Mats can weigh as much or more than 10 pounds or as little as 2 pounds.

The difference in weights is generally due to thickness and what the mat is made of. Lightweight mats are often man made materials. They are generally 3 to 5 mm thick and can be rolled into a tube shape that is easy to carry. There are mats as thick as 8.5mm out there too.

The toughness of mats is a subject of wide debate. There are those who claim thinner mats break down more quickly. Others think that how you care for your mat will decide the life span. Certainly there are instructions on care and they should be followed if you want to get the longest use of it regardless of material or thickness.

Comfort is a matter of texture and thickness combined. Longer poses are more comfortable on thicker mats. And beginning yoga students are often less stressed on thick mats. Plus, there is no reason to be uncomfortable as it does not add to the practice.

Consider the texture of the mat too. Some types of yoga need a non-slip surface for stability. Hatha yoga is an example. Bikram or hot yoga would find that surface less useful. Asking your instructor is the surest way to avoid mistakes in texture.

There are manufacturers that are environmentally conscientious and have a zero waste policy. That may be important to you. Others use only natural materials like jute or natural rubber. Some make theirs from recycled or recyclable materials. And there are dozens of beautifully decorated woven mats and yoga rugs.

Sizes vary just as clothing sized do. Widths go from twenty two inches to thirty inches and beyond. Lengths can be 60 inches to 80 inches. And as mentioned the differences in thicknesses can be substantial.

There is a great deal more to choosing a yoga mat than color and decorative appeal. It is a very good idea to consider how much you will be hauling it around. And balancing the use, design, comfort and environmental issue is almost as hard as holding some of the postures you will be trying.

Relationship Of Health And Happiness

The right attitude can affect you entire life, not only the way you look but also the way you feel and your overall health, says Dr. Anju Mathur, who runs the Angel Longevity Medical Center in Los Angeles. It’s all a question of mind over matter…

So how can happiness affect the The spirit, the person himself, can also affect the mind, as in may not be the greatest. But a of an illness and help the body The body’s survival is, to a greater or lesser extent, dependent on the attitude of the mind. Positive emotions can assist any recovery and prevent illness. Negative emotions do the opposite. A person with a good attitude who feels certain he can make any situation improve, usually can make it improve.

If you have a positive attitude in life, if you know you can make any situation better and you have no negative emotions, then the body will survive better.

Happiness

Fortunately, you can override everything and be happy, even if something is wrong. The point is you can create your own happiness. By having that positive and correct attitude about life, you can also positively affect your health.

At Angel Longevity Medical Center, Dr. Mather often employs spiritual assists to help patients change their attitude about life, and be rid of things that cause unhappiness. Dr. Mather has seen this technology work time and again.

Assists to Help Healing

The spiritual assists employed at Angel Longevity Medical Center were developed by the founder of Scientology, L. Ron Hubbard. These assists are directed to the spirit only, not the body, but when the spirit is in a cheerful state, it brings about the possibility for the spirit to heal the body. Dr. Mather personally uses these assists in hew own life and has had tremendous success, even to the extent of healing fractures on her own body.

There is one assist called “contact assist”. What that means is if the body gets injured, if you fall down, get a fracture, sprain your eg, all you have to do is go back to the exact spot in the physical universe and just touch that body part that got hurt in the exact same spot until you blow that image away, or get rid of it. The important thing is to touch the injured body part back to the thing that injured it in a slow and safe manner.

For example, a person might have run into a tree on his bicycle and got a bump on his head. That person can return to that tree, and gently touch the injured part of his head to the part of the tree that caused the injury. The pain may get worse for a moment, but then it will blow - it will fade away. You would NOT keep riding your bicycle into a tree - that would only hurt more!

There are also assists for illnesses, because sometimes a person hangs onto an illness, thinking it is of benefit to him. A child might think his illness gets him more love and consideration. It is a fixed idea, and not a very bright idea. Once such stuck moments are found with a spiritual assist, one is free of them.

Spiritual assists can dispel such fixed ideas, and enlist the help of the mind and spirit to heal the body.

Yoga Mats: Things To Consider When Choosing One

When shopping for yoga mats, there are a few things you need to consider. These days, they can come in all shapes and sizes. That’s why you need to take your time in deciding on one that’s best for you. With the best one, you get the right amount of assistance and support during sessions.

Knowing how they’re different from those used for pilates is necessary. The mat used for pilates generally is thicker to give better cushioning to the body. For instance, advanced pilates sessions may require for the individual to do a body roll. For such to be done comfortably, the spine needs some support. Likewise, it’s not as sticky as those used for yoga. But they’re basically of the same size and use.

Now that you know the key differences, it’s time to proceed with choosing the materials they’re made of. For a newbie, it’s always advisable to start out with an affordable one. As you move to advanced levels, then you can switch to something which is more hard-wearing and expensive. Your budget should be put into consideration when shopping for one.

Of all the ones available these days, the most affordable are the standard ones that are sticky. Usually of PVC, these synthetic ones are readily available at most department stores. There are people who have just signed up for a session and immediately choose a costly mat. But after a session or two, they give up thinking it’s not the type of workout for them. And the mat is left to collect dust. That’s why it’s best for a beginner to go for an inexpensive one at first.

If you like something out of natural materials, you may go for something out of either cork or jute. Of course it’s going to be more expensive than a synthetic counterpart. However, there’s no denying its quality and beauty. If you attend a session only once or twice per week, it’s perfectly fine to go for such. Otherwise, it can easily get smelly or break apart. That’s because cork and jute are porous materials.

Many people who are into the practice prefer rubber ones. The pricing is basically just the same as those out of jute and cork. But rubber ones are definitely more hard-wearing. Some are made from all-natural rubber, but there are also those crafted from synthetic versions. If you have latex allergy, then choosing a rubber mat is not recommendable for you. Stick to those which are latex free.

Cleaning them regularly is essential, regardless of the materials they’re crafted from. Most of those synthetic ones may be cleaned with the use of a washing machine. But still it’s best to follow the cleaning instructions provided by their manufacturers. Those from all-natural materials may be soaked in water with soap. Before rolling, make sure they’re completely dry.

You should try to test out some yoga mats which can be found at your health club before you buy one. Doing so will enable you to experience firsthand how it’s like using them. Your instructor may even recommend a brand or store where it’s best to get yours.

Book Review: Wisdom of the Gemstone Guardians

Michael Katz’ Wisdom of the Gemstone Guardians is unique among crystal healing books in many regards. One thing that sets it apart is that it makes no secret of the fact that is practically entirely ‘channeled’ from spirit entities, the so called ‘Gemstone Guardians.’

Although this may be a tad much for orthodox medical practitioners, author Michael Katz none-the-less believes this young science, which he refers to as Gemstone Energy Medicine, will continue to grow and become increasingly mainstream.

And he is not alone in that belief. Many top athletes testify to the power of the gemstones as described in this book, including Mark Foster, British Olympic Swimmer, Glen Christiansen, Swedish Olympic Medalist, Tanner Eriksen, Pitcher, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Art Dilworth, Triathlete, Professional and Olympic Trainer.

Larry King, of Larry King Live, is quoted on the sleeve of the 1997 edition of this book as saying: “Some inner voice told me to read this book. Thank you, inner voice. What a remarkable study.”

The material in Wisdom of the Gemstone Guardians is made up of the teachings of twenty-nine ‘Gemstone Guardians,” each of whom is in charge of a particular gemstone. They tell us of the powers and healing qualities of each stone.

This book is so masterfully composed that it reads like a beautiful novel… one so mesmerizing that it’s hard to put down once you’ve begun to read it. I’ve heard of no other book inspiring so many novices to become interested in crystal healing.

If you are looking for a reference book in which to look up any gemstone which happens to draw your immediate attention, then Wisdom of the Gemstone Guardians is not the right choice. But if you are looking for the best, most inspirational and enjoyable story about the healing properties of some of the most powerful gemstones in the world today, then there really is no comparable alternative.

Wisdom of the Gemstone Guardians has been a perpetual best-seller in the field of crystal healing since its first edition in 1989, when it was published as Gifts of the Gemstone Guardians. Another version of the book titled Gemisphere Luminary was published in 1997.

Crystals discussed in Wisdom of the Gemstone Guardians include Ruby, Carnelian, Citrine, Emerald, Sapphire, Indigo (crystalline form of Sodalite), Amethyst, Quarts, Pearl, Ivorite, Opalite, Mother of Pearl, Riverstone, Black Onyx, Rhodonite, Poppy Jasper, Rose Quartz, Pink Tourmaline, Rhodochrosite, Leopardskin Jasper, Bloodstone, Malachite, Aventurine, Green Tourmaline, Blue Aquamarine, Lapis Lazuli, Sodalite, Lavender Quartz, and Purple Rainbow Fluorite.

Dr. Sten Videmark resides in central Sweden, where he works as a holistic health practitioner. After studying chiropractic in the United States, ‘gemstone energy medicine’ has become one of his preferred healing modality. Rare Gem among Metaphysical Books

A metaphysical expose on such politically explosive topics as the spiritual significance of races and world religions, Illuminating Physical Experience by Foley, Shaffer and Davidsson may have been too far ahead of its time when it was originally published in 1999. I believe it’s a book whose time has finally come.

Illuminating Physical Experience delicately covers a wide range of sensitive topics [mostly] without offending. Each world religion is analyzed for its spiritual strengths and weaknesses; an analysis that leaves an objective reader feeling that no one religion is overly judged or elevated but each receives its fair share of praise as well as criticism.

A similar analysis is done of the five human races: red, yellow, brown, black and white. Again, spiritual and karmic strengths and weaknesses are presented - a topic even more politically incorrect than critiquing religions. But again, it’s accomplished with a sense of non-judgment that fails to offend.

Perhaps not surprising, the white race gets the harshest evaluation. But even this feels more self-reproaching than racist, due to the fact that the three authors themselves are white.

One third of the book is devoted to body symbology in a fashion both reminiscent of and yet distinctly different from Louise Hay. In 1984, Louise Hay revolutionized body-mind medicine with her outlining of the mental component of various illnesses. Illuminating Physical Experience goes more into the spiritual and emotional causes, although mental judgments as causative are also addressed.

Paraphrasing the book: Diseases are caused by emotional blockages. The reason why the emotions are blocked are mental judgments. And there is always some physical mechanism through which the disease manifests, such as a bacteria or virus, injury or auto-immune response, although the mechanism is never the real cause.

Many additional fascinating topics are covered in Illuminating Physical Experience, some of which are as potentially sensitive as the chapter on race and religion, e.g. miscarriages and abortions, homosexuality, and why our children kill. [Illuminating Physical Experience was published only a few months after the Columbine shooting in 1999.]

Other less “dangerous” but none-the-less fascinating topics covered include: Emotional ownership; soul fragmentation; releasing vows and hexes; psychic cording; Atlantis and Lemuria and much more. In Appendix II is an extensive list encompassing 20 healing modalities to help facilitate spiritual and emotional growth.

To conclude, Illuminating Physical Experience provides a fresh and thought-provoking perspective on an impressive array of spiritual topics. Unique and inspiring, it’s a must read for any serious metaphysician.
