Acclimatising To Today's World

So in this piece we're going to find out about Reishi Mushroom and one or two other extraordinary herbs. Reishi is perhaps the biggest herb on the planet. And why I say that, why I make that claim, is this herb is the most scientifically analyzed of any herb ever known, ever studied. On top of that, it's one of the most revered, if not the most respected, herb of all of ancient China.

Now also, cordyceps as well as astragalus are immune-modulating too. As one or two other herbs that are modulating to the immune system, but in a different way.

The 1st one would be polyrachis ant. That's also an immune-modulator, and excellent for the immune response because it essentially helps with the expansion and the upkeep of the fimus gland, which is a gland that seems to kind of shrivel up and wither away as we age, and it is a actually crucial and critical part of our immunity mechanism.

So that the 2nd herb would be gynostemma. Gynostemma is honestly, talking of, I need to take a drink now…gynostemma is probably one of the finest adaptagens in the world, and it has 82-88-100 different adaptagenic sapanins, dependent on who you speak to or what research you read, there’s numerous numbers. But essentially, it is also an immune tonic, and immune-modulating thing, but in a touch different way as it has marginally different characters, subtly different chemical makeup. So that you can see whether you add in a wide selection of immune herbs, immune tonics, and cycle them through in time and just experiment and change it up, you can have a pretty awesome line up.

Because each one of these different things kind of hit things at another angle and modulate things at an alternative angle.

And the immune reaction is truly urgent and critical and crucial for lots of reasons. One of them is that, number one, we're facing a lot of viruses and bacteria and mould and yeast, etcetera, all the time. Particularly if we're working in public or working in a building with plenty of other folks, especially if they're just conventional folk who don't know anything or do anything about health.

Immune System and Herbs

So in this article we are going to find out more about Reishi Mushroom, which is probably the largest herb in the world. And why I say that, why I make that claim, is that this herb is the most scientifically analyzed of any herb ever known, ever studied. On top of that, it's one of the most revered, if not the most respected, herb of all of ancient China.

Clearly if you had a life endangering condition and you required a extreme medication, that could be a suitable thing. Which, if you concentrate on it, that is basically what pharmaceutical medication is, is they isolate one chemical and they super hyper concentrate it.

As a consequence, there’s many complications that come together with that because they sort of eliminated the natural and inherit intelligence of the plant.

So for this reason, reishi is ideally, for me, in a full plant range concentrated extract that has been removed and both with hot water and alcohol to drag out both the water-soluble constituents and the oil-soluble components. So that is simply an vital kind of side note and detour that I needed to take and just make two those important points.

So as I mentioned before, reishi is an immune-modulator and an immune tonic because it has these polysaccharides, these betaglucans, as well as many other chemicals that are contained within it. So fundamentally what these things can do is when we take them into our body, they sort of plug in like lock and key on various receptor sites in our immune system.

And then they fundamentally say, hey immune mechanism, you have something going on over here, you need to go check that out. Or they assert hey, all you immune cells are just sitting there doing nothing, you need to get up and get to work and get some action. So then boom, it helps to improve that under-active part, but then there is a part over here that asserts, hey, you are really overactive, you're kind of overdoing it over here, just unwind a bit, just bring it down, or maybe come focus over here. So fundamentally what that suggests is these unique chemicals can plug into receptor sites on our immune system and help the immune system function more effectively and efficiently and essentially more intelligently.

The Negative Results of Stress

So in this article we are going to find out more about Reishi Mushroom, which is probably the largest herb on the planet. And why I say that, why I make that claim, is that this herb is the most scientifically analyzed of any herb ever known, ever studied. On top of that, it's one of the most respected, if not the most revered, herb of all of traditional China.

Now manifestly, we’re all human, we all feel stresses, we all feel stresses all of the time, it's simply a matter of how we handle it and how we're ready to handle it and deal with it. Because the concept isn't to dump stress altogether and just sit noiselessly in a room in the dark and never do anything, because that is truly out of whack and that actually has zip to do with life.

We ought to be growing and expanding and feeling healthy and feeling critical and being barely challenging ourselves all of the time so we are always moving and growing and becoming more of who we actually are. Now there’s essentially been plenty of research done on the effects of stress on the body. And there’s one researcher from Stanford who is kind of an integrated medication expert, and he's basically concluded that, at least in America, between 80-90% of all illnesses have connections to stress.

And 75-90% of all visits to the doctor are for stress or anxiety-related conditions. And it’s really not that tough to fathom, not that hard to grasp when you look at our modern world and how overwhelmed and blitzed we are with stimuli and info all of the time, from cellular phones, texts, voice mails, phone calls, missed calls, mails, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Tumbler, Stumbleupon, Google, on top of that our roles, all of our relations, our kids, our grandkids, our significant other, our hubbies, our wives, etcetera.

We have all these demands placed on us all the time, not to mention, just living our lives—waking up, eating breakfast, brushing our teeth, exercising, living, achieving our goals, etcetera. We have all these demands, all these things coming at us all of the time. So there’s not surprising that there’s so much stress and there’s so much stress running rampid through our society. because as yet, we haven’t really learned and evolved tactics that evolving and handling stress.

Meaning our stressors and the available amount of info and information to sort thru and process those has exponentially increased, while our capability to essentially handle it and deal with it and sort with it and digest it and process it and use it and embody it, has barely increased in any way. It has basically increased a couple little baby steps in disproportionately to the exponential increase of the other side of it, which is what's really anticipated of us.

Reishi Mushroom: A Real Superstar

So in this piece we're going to talk of and find out about one of my favorite herbs in history, and in fact possibly the most important herb on the planet. And why I say that, why I make that claim, is that this herb is the most scientifically analyzed of any herb ever known, ever studied, etcetera. On top of that, it is one of the most revered, if not the most revered, herb of all of traditional China. And naturally that herb is none other than reishi mushroom. Again, it is one of my favourite herbs and an herb that I have worked with rather a lot during the past 8 or so years. It is one herb that I've gotten a large amount of actually solid feedback about and I've heard just plenty of great success stories.

When it comes to the immunological response and lots of the other systems in the body, what makes reishi so dynamic and so amazing is it's whats considered to be twin directional. And they have fundamentally worked out that reishi has 600-900 different chemicals. From that, they've understood, at least scientifically, that reishi modulates about 300 or so different processes in the body. Which, that sure is a lot…there’s a lot going on there, particularly purely for the one herb. But in particular what makes it so amazing is that, in the context of the immune reaction, it's not an immune stimulator like a large amount of herbs, and it is not an immune depressant like a lot of herbs and substances also.

What makes it special and unique is that it is an immune regulator, or an immune modulator. So when we've got a weakened immune condition, depressed immune condition, it can then bring that up and fortify that part of our immune system. And if we have got a part of our immune system which is inappropriate or if we have allergies or autoimmune things, it can kind of calm that down and assist in bringing that back to balance. And that is actually the overarching thing, is reishi helps to just balance the immunity mechanism. And over time , make the immune mechanism stronger, more effective, and better.

Herbs like Reishi Mushroom tend to live in very stressful, very threatening environments, much like we do, and they've an intelligence, they've got an immune system similar to ours, and they must fight off lots of the same attackers, if not more so than we do.

You believe, like reishi for instance, grows on a crumbling log in an exceedingly clammy forest. Now when you believe damp and moist, customarily what is evoked is fungus, bacteria, mosquitoes, bugs, and just not a hospitable environment. So in order for reishi to survive and to reproduce and to live, it has to fight off all of these things. Same thing with chaga and cordyceps. So these mushrooms have an intelligence because they themselves have to ward off plenty of similar things we do so as to survive.

New Age Tarot Revealed In The Osho Zen Deck

Infused with the wisdom of Zen, the Osho Zen Deck helps the reader to focus on what is happening in your life right here and right now. The images allow you to see your inner thoughts and emotions. They, in turn, show you how your thoughts and emotions are reflected in your world. They lend themselves to meditation and introspection. This is very different from most tarot decks that are used more for divination and fortune telling

Born in India, Osho, previously known as Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, was a controversial spiritual leader both in his early career and even more so in his later years. In the 1960s, he was an outspoken critic of organized religion as well as his attitude toward more open sexuality. In the 1980s, he was the central figure of an Oregon Commune that was involved in a bio-terror incident against the local community.

One of the main differences between the Osho Zen deck and many other tarot decks is the images on the cards. They are much more modern than the images of decks that have been inspired by middle age symbolism. They are said to be much easier to gain insight from the reader. The reader is able to gain wisdom from these images by showing the him or her the situation as it really is. One word descriptions for each card describe the meaning and symbolism that is conveyed.

Like most decks, the Osho Zen deck comes with a book explaining the meaning of each card. Obviously, these explanations are rooted in Zen thought. The insight in the book also contains humorous descriptions that lend themselves to offer a different viewpoint for the reader.

The Osho Tarot Deck is great for both beginners and for more seasoned readers of the tarot. The beauty and simplicity of the images help the reader to find the correct answers for the questions they are seeking. The here and now is revealed with this deck.

Learn About Your Chakras

By learning and deeply understanding the Chakra system, it’s possible to gain a much clearer perspective on both the world out there, and the deepest truths about yourself. The Chakra system offers a powerful way to see how different forms of energy manifest themselves- including the ways that they manifest themselves in physical, energetic, and social disorders. In many ways, the Chakra system provides insight into not only how to cure your own ailments, but where you might start when attempting to heal the world as a whole.

Self expression is a common problem in today’s world. We are constantly being told to sit down, to be quiet, and to make sure we don’t rock the boat by saying something controversial. This silencing starts at a very young age, with most people getting their taste of it when they begin their schooling. These values of silence continue on through your education, and are only further reinforced by most traditional work environments.

On the other hand, it’s also easy to see an incredibly visible backlash to this indoctrination of silence- the yelling, screaming, angry and arguing talking heads that populate our media landscape. Performing an opinion at maximum volume, all the while actively insulting anyone who doesn’t agree with you, is no healthier a mode of communication than silence. Either way you shake it, you can easily see that our culture has some problems with clear communication. In other words, it’s easy to see that we live in a culture of people with blocked and overpowered Throat Chakras.

In many ways the Crown Chakra is the most elusive, and this air of mystery also provides it with an elevated status. It’s easy to know whether you are having physical energy problems, or whether your relationships have been suffering lately, which makes it easy to identify problems with most of your other Chakras. But your Crown Chakra is concerned with less obvious problems- issues of not feeling connected to your spiritual source, issues of feeling like your purpose in life is not grounded in something greater than the routine, feelings that you are not fully alive with the wholeness of this world. These are important and serious problems, but they aren’t always easy to identify.

Aside from the aforementioned poles of silence or screaming, problems in the sixth Chakra manifest themselves in a variety of ways. If you act in any creative capacity, even something like software coding, than problems with your Throat Chakra will manifest themselves in the muddled thinking and the inability to produce anything that works properly. Excessive shyness is another symptom, as an inability to hold a conversation with anyone (stranger or friend) is symptomatic of an inability or a lack of desire to actually communicate with another. Even problems of organization are related to Throat Chakra energy, as organization is nothing more than another act of subtly influencing and creating the world. Throat Chakra problems are serious, and need to be taken as such. Being able to positively affect the world requires an ability to communicate your positive vision properly, without fear of opposing viewpoints. After all, healing your sixth Chakra isn’t simply about communicating better yourself- it’s also about giving others the opportunity to express themselves- without having to scream.

Chakras - Blossoms of Beauty

We live in a society filled with individuals. It is a world where we are taught to assert ourselves independently, to stand out above the crowd and to be unique. It is interesting that our society focuses so much on the individual, when we are, to a much greater degree, completely interdependent in so many ways. Without this interdependence, we would not exist. As individuals, we become caught up in our own to-do lists. The things that we want to accomplish and create take up so much space in our minds that we sometimes overlook the fact that our interdependence upon the planetary bodies, the life force energy that sustains us, other people and the delicate balance of nature are of much more importance to our own individual experience than we give credit for.

The colors and patterns that we are accustomed to seeing every day play a much more significant role in our lives than we might first assume, intertwined as they are with the energy centers that bring life and awareness into our bodies. Our Chakras are the doorways to this interdependence. We are delicate, intricate waves of energy put together in such a way that we may seem unique, and indeed in some social and physical respects we are, but what is more important at this time is to begin to open up to the ways that we are connected to a steady stream of energies that allow for our individual consciousness to unfold within the greater scope of existence. We are but tiny specks in a vast sea of consciousness, space and time, but within each speck exists the knowledge of the whole of everything.

Regaining balance is a continuous, lifelong process. Balance is upset as soon as it is found, because the pendulum of balance swings back and forth. The ultimate goal is not to find utter balance and harmony and keep it so much as it is to find ways to sustain it as often as possible. In this way we step back from our limited human mindset to become one with all of life, accepting where we find ourselves. Working with our Chakras, we discover the ways that energy affects us. Learning to harmonize the flow of energy within our Chakras is not difficult, though it does require that we change the way that we see things. One of the most important realizations that we develop when working with our Chakras is the understanding that everything affects everything else. We do not live in a vacuum, no matter how much our minds want to isolate us from others.

Let’s say that you feel a tightness in your stomach, a nervous sensation of some kind, and you visualize a complexly woven knot of energy that is slowly being untangled bit by bit as a beautiful yellow light runs through what becomes a golden rope of light, untangling the knot and restoring harmony to that area of your body. You release the light through your Solar Plexus Chakra and out into the universe and all of a sudden you feel lighter, healthier and positively glowing. Visualizations like these actually stimulate your brain into creating chemical and molecular changes, which in effect means that we create what we experience at very subtle levels by the thoughts that we associate with our experience. In the two minutes that it takes you to imagine something so peaceful and wonderful, you can effectively bring that energy into play in your own life. You can do it any time… so you may as well be taking advantage of it!

Working with our Chakras expands our perception of the ways that life affects us and we it, giving us a broader frame of reference from which we can reverse the selfish alienation of ourselves as all important, giving way to a continuum of experiences whereby we humans are forced to accept that the wrongs that we have perpetuated upon our planet, we have also brought upon ourselves.

The Importance Of Chakras

Working out your chakras is a lot like working out your muscles. If you are going to exercise properly than you need to know a few things about the muscles that you want to work out. First, you need to have some sort of idea what the function and purpose of each muscle is. Understanding this will give you an idea of how to exercise the muscle. You aren’t going to work your arms by doing squats, and your core isn’t going to be worked too well from bicep curls. After all, it isn’t enough to just workout- you need to work out according to the goals you want to accomplish and the muscles you want to improve. The same holds true when energizing and strengthening your chakras. You need to know which chakras to work out, and how to target it specifically.

Manipura lies at the front of your stomach around your navel, though some people place it in the solar plexus. Regardless of its exact position, it relates to digestion and the core power of your body. In fact, saying that Manipura is primarily concerned with power would be a bit of an understatement. Physically speaking, all of your body’s power originates from what fitness gurus have come to call your “core.” Your core is the girdle of muscles that surrounds your abdominal region, above your waist and below your chest. This area of your body is involved in just about every single movement and action that your body takes, and nearly all muscular and physical power in your body starts in this physical area.

Digestion is also ruled by Manipura, and digestion is all about assimilating the energy and power from the foods that you consume and transmitting them throughout the rest of your body. While the macro and micronutrients that you absorb from your digestion spread throughout your body to do their work, once again they all originate right within your core.

But perhaps more than anything else, Ajna relates to your ability to hold the proper perspective on things. When you are blowing small problems or details way out of proportion, or when you are unable to see the importance of something when it’s obvious to other elevated people, than you are likely to have a problem with your 6th chakra. Remember that “seeing” isn’t simply a matter of looking at what’s in front of you. Seeing always has much to do with filtering what’s presented with you through your personal perspective and biases.

Energizing and strengthening Manipura often involves exercising and strengthening your core muscles. Working on exercises like crunches, rollouts and heavy lifts like squats and deadlifts all greatly strengthen your core muscles. Not only will these exercises temporarily bring energy into your third chakra, but by increasing their strength and capability you will be empowering your Manipura in a more long term manner. It’s also crucially important that you watch what you eat if you are having third chakra problems, or if you simply want to further strengthen it. Most of your digestion health is related to what you eat, and continuously poisoning your stomach with junk foods and the like will quickly erode your sense of physical and spiritual personal power.

Problems Caused By Closed Chakras

For some people, reading about the chakra system is nothing more than entertainment. It’s little more than an interesting and pleasant diversion that they will probably stop thinking about as soon as they finish reading the book or article that they’ve picked up. However, those who actively implement the chakra system into their lives have found it to be a powerful tool for better understanding themselves- and for better understanding the problems that they have in life. The chakra system is, above all, a great way to diagnose and cure the various problems that you encounter in your life, working as a truly holistic healing system.

The very basis of the Chakra system is the idea that the root of physical problems tends to lie in energetic problems. If you are having a specific physical issue that you can’t shake, it is likely nothing more or less than a manifestation of an area of your life that you need to work on. Likewise, energetic and emotional areas of your being that are problematic are easy enough to fix by treating the physical areas that they correspond with.

The second chakra physically lies around the area of your body called your “sacrum.” Most newcomers to the field are probably unaware of what their “sacrum” actually is. Simply put, your sacrum lies at the small of your back. Most people have an easier time understanding the second chakra through its other physical association- your sexual organs. The connection between your sacrum and your sexual organs is actually a direct one. For example, a man’s ejaculation is known in many spiritual sexual circles as little more than an involuntary reaction that originates from the buildup of sexual energy in your lower spine- your sacrum. The sacrum also sits in very close proximity to a woman’s internal sexual organs.

Problems with your sexuality are Sacral Chakra problems. This includes both physical sexual problems and less tangible problems. For example, impotence or a severely reduced sex drive points to serious problems with your Sacral Chakra. Similarly, dangerous sexual behaviors and habits also point to Sacral Chakra problems. It’s important that you don’t jump to conclusions about what constitutes “dangerous sexual behaviors,” as there are plenty of unconventional ways of expressing sexuality that are healthy and have nothing to do with second chakra issues.

Other problems associated with the Root Chakra lie in your feelings about security- more specifically your feelings about money. While money is simply one energy system among many in the world, the feeling that you constantly never have enough is a debilitating problem lying in your first chakra. Those feelings of scarcity and that fear of being close to running out may seem petty to some, but they will undermine all other progress and growth that you endeavor in your life. Similarly, constantly feeling worried about your physical well-being (of being hungry, of being attacked, or being vulnerable at all times) all are tied to problems with your Root Chakra. Too many people who are spiritually minded pay little heed to their physical well being, and in encouraging feelings of material security. If you consider these problems picayune, than consider all the wasted time and energy you have spent in life that could be put to better use. The base of all health, whether spiritual or physical, lie in a properly functioning Root Chakra.

How To Open Chakras

Having a thorough understanding of the chakra system will allow you to quickly and easily identify and cure potential problems in your physical and spiritual health. Problems in your physical health can manifest themselves as problems in your spiritual health, and problems in your spiritual life can manifest themselves as serious health issues. If there is an area of your life where you are experiencing less than optimal results, in either your spiritual or physical life, than working on its corresponding chakra is a great way to overcome this challenge. Though of course, to do this properly you need to understand what each chakra corresponds with and how to best activate them.

Let’s take a look at the first chakra, Muladhara, the root chakra. Muladhara forms the very base of your being, in both a physical and energetic sense. The root chakra is located at the base of your spine. Some people locate it right at your anus, some right above your anus, and others in your perineum at the literal lowest point of your torso. It isn’t important to locate this chakra entirely precisely, it’s simply important that you understand this red energetic disk with four petals sits within that region.

In addition to your sexual energy, Swadhisthana is also associated with much of your emotional energy. This should come as no surprise to anyone, as there are few elements of our lives (if any) that evoke deeper and more intense emotions than those relating to our sexual relationships. These emotions encompass both powerful positive and negative reactions, but these emotions are almost always deep and intense. Swadhisthana is also concerned with personal gratification, with belonging, and with our desire for acceptance from others. It is related to water, both in terms of bodily fluids and the fluidity and change of emotions.

As is true with all of your chakras, there are multiple ways of activating Swadhisthana. Perhaps the most basic way is to simply stimulate your genitals, which energizes the sacral chakra and brings up awakens it easier than any other exercise. If the idea of stimulating your genitals to awaken this chakra is problematic for you, than chances are you are blocked in this energy center and need to exercise it more than most.

The most basic thing you can do for Muladhara’s health is to simply exercise. Going to the gym and lifting weights, running, and competing in sports will all aid the health and effectiveness of your root chakra. Physical exercise is especially potent for your root chakra when you focus on lower body movements. Running, performing weighted or bodyweight squats, using the leg press machine and similar movements will all powerfully energize your root chakra. There are also energetic exercises that you can perform to further strengthen and activate your root chakra. For example, visualizing the energy of the earth coming up into your root chakra is a powerful way to provide energetic therapy if this chakra is stunted or clogged. Meditating on your physical blessings and performing gratitude exercises for the basic material blessings that you enjoy and are thankful for is another great way to provide plenty of loving energy to your root chakra.
